Rain 1 Sukhoy 2013

The Rain

The rain outside pours down like an anxious waterfall
Just set free by the great gates of a mountainous dam
The precipitation pounding the pavement and grass below
Sweeping away the dust and drought left behind by a hot, dry summer

This scorching heat has lasted for nearly an entire decade
Drying up the earth and leaving nature thirsty for replenishment
The lightning outside crashes against the cement like a pitchfork
And the surrounding thunder penetrates the ear drums at each decibel

Everything is being washed down
Everything is being dusted off
Everything is being swept away
Everything is being cleansed thoroughly

To make room for an amazing Genesis of heavenly power
That will merge and become whole again, after a very long wait
Because the drought has finished absolving the past, good and bad
It’s time for the water to fall and flood the senses with
