When I sent out for the 23&Me DNA test results, I made a decision to record my reaction to the results. Figured, why not capture the raw emotion of discovery as it happens?
Today, after a very intense and demanding work week, not to mention the coping of the never ending Polar Vortex, I decided to go to bed early. As in before 10PM early. And if you know me, you know that 10PM for me is like 7PM for most people.
I turned off my laptop, put on my pajamas, removed my makeup, brushed my teeth and was ready to shut off the lights, when I did that thing you really shouldn’t do: I checked my email on my iPhone one last time.
And there it was: a message from 23&Me stating, “Your results are ready.”
I wasn’t expecting this to come in for another two weeks, and, really, it will be two more weeks before I receive the information I’m really looking for. But, the preliminary results of my DNA test are ready.
Interesting fact: According to the 23&Me website, “The paternal line of all women leads to a man who lived in Africa an estimated 125,000 years ago.” Imagine all that shtooping!

And stay tuned. In two weeks I learn my Ancestry Composition and discover how my blood got to Eastern Europe.
