In January of 2010, while in my basement, on a recent massive purging exercise, I found this piece, folded in two, tucked into my high school French textbook. Reading it made me smile and also realize that, at our core, we are who we are. Found it even more interesting that some of the phrasing, wording and reference in this 1987 piece sounded quite similar to my 2009 U2 concert review.
Special thank you to Masha, a college student at a the time, who convinced our parents to allow me to hop on a Grayhound bus and join her to see the band at University of Illinois, in Champaign Urbana. Sis, I hope that, two decades later, I returned the favor.

You returned the favor 10 fold. Both concerts were filled with energy that propelled you forward reminding you that even though nothing lasts forever music stays with us thru our lives and gives us hope,love and vigor to go on to challenge and create and become the best that we can be.
